Woman’s “Honour Crime” Hell

November 23, 07 – 8:57 pm
I happened to have this article pointed out to me in a newspaper I started to read. Going through the article gives an impression that the crime of forcing a marriage on a woman or in this case a teenager is a part of Islam. The actual fact is that it is part of some people's twisted culture as is represented in this case. A few things to bear in mind is that the marriage to this man is not viable in Islam because since the girl claims she said she doesn't want to marry the man to the "priest" who "carried on". In Islam if one party is not happy, then there is not a marriage. So just a little note about this honour crime article is that not all is what it seems to be. Honour crimes are not a part of Islam, they are the cultural defects in some ...

IslamBradford.net Forums

November 10, 07 – 8:49 pm
The forums here at IslamBradford.net have been open for a while now and as I see it to make a forum successful you need to have a community of users. So instead of making a torrent of sections which will be empty and blank instead I have decided to have a minimal amount of sections and wait until there is a sizeable amount of users who will be able to fill the forum. To register in the forums go here.

Terrorism: In the name of Islam?

November 10, 07 – 5:53 pm
Terrorism is one of the major headlines gripping the world's headlines. Where information is distorted and misinterpreted across the world, I see a need for there to be clarification of the issue. Terrorism as shown by the media is committing acts of terror which is basically killing on a mass scale without, I would say, direct and specific targeting of a person. Islamic terrorism is when people who say they are Muslims commit acts of terror. But is this Islamic terrorism, or is Islam the veil behind which these people are hiding and shooting out deadly and violent attacks. Just something to think about, is it really Islam or as I see it people using Islam as an excuse?

Britz: Fact or Fiction

November 1, 07 – 8:44 pm
The Story Britz is a two part drama written by Peter Kosminsk. The drama revolves around brother and sister Sohail and Nasima. The first part focuses in on Sohail's side of the story while the second installment focuses on sister Nasima. Sohail is a British Muslim who has turned his back on "radicalism" and has joined MI5. Nasima is a medical student who, as it is portrayed, turns to terror as a means to protest against the killing of Muslims in Iraq. Plot Analysis There are some perks in the plot which I think are quite a major flaw with the drama. We have to think if this girl, Nasima, is going to turn to a radical form of expressing her self from doing activities such as sleeping with her boyfriend with whom she in not married. This is going from one extreme to another, because in Islam it is forbidden to commit ...
